Robert is responsible for providing market intelligence and advisory services for clients on compensation strategy in the region. He is also responsible for the day-to-day management of McLagan in Asia Pacific (excluding Japan).
Prior to joining McLagan, Robert was with JPMorgan, where he served as regional head of compensation and benefits for the past six years, and handled numerous major HR merger and acquisition projects for the region. He has also held regional management positions at Merrill Lynch and Citibank and a consulting role at Watson Wyatt Hong Kong.
Robert completed his studies with an MBA at Andrews University (Berrien Springs, Michigan, USA).

Peter manages the McLagan compensation survey program in Asia-Pacific. He has a solid working experience in the compensation and benefits and human resources field in the banking industry.
Prior to joining McLagan, Peter worked for Citibank, JP Morgan and Development Bank of Singapore for various HR positions, including Compensation & Benefits and Business HR.
Peter holds a Professional Diploma in Human Resources Management from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong.

Carter Sherwood, a Vice President with McLagan, recently relocated to the Asia Pacific region to focus on enhancing McLagan’s advisory capabilities and ensuring the delivery of distinctive client solutions and service. His global expertise and breadth of knowledge across multiple business sectors will be of value to any leading financial institution in the region whether multinational or local.
Prior to his move, Mr. Sherwood worked out of the US headquarters in the Corporate and Consumer Banking Practice where he was responsible for managing several annual performance and reward benchmarking studies as well as consulting projects within the banking sector.
Mr. Sherwood led the design and expansion of comprehensive global benchmarking programs covering Retail and Commercial Banking, Consumer Lending and the Cards and Payments Industries. Mr. Sherwood also specializes in advising and partnering with clients on various projects including the unique aspects of productivity analysis, incentive plan design, salary administration, integrations, and comprehensive compensation benchmarking.
Prior to joining McLagan, Mr. Sherwood spent six years with InSearch Worldwide, now Allegis Group Services, a premier recruitment and human resources business process outsourcing firm, specializing in onsite high volume staffing engagements within the financial services industry.
Mr. Sherwood received a B.S. in Management from the University of South Carolina and currently works out of the regional headquarters in Hong Kong.
Izumi Hotta is a Vice President, currently responsible for the Australia surveys and consulting projects, and holds primary client relationship management responsibilities with all the major domestic banks, as well as all major international institutions in the region.
Mr. Hotta holds a B.Sc. from the University of East Anglia, and graduate degrees from the London School of Economics and London Metropolitan University.

Yoko Ishida joined McLagan in 1991 to build its Asia Pacific business and has led its business activities in the region for 19 years. Since 2010, Ms. Ishida has taken a new advisory role, focusing on providing integrated advice and assistance to clients in the area of compensation and productivity management. Her responsibilities include assisting clients in the region in transforming their HR and compensation approach and programs to support their global business expansion strategies.
Prior to joining McLagan, Ms. Ishida was Head of Human Resources for Citibank’s Investment/Corporate Banking businesses. Yoko holds a BA from International Christian University, Japan.
Since joining the firm in 2005, Steven has been providing advisory and consulting services to clients across different sectors of financial services and has advised clients on compensation analysis, plan design and management.
Prior to joining McLagan, Steven had a career in Fixed Income derivatives at NatWest Markets and Morgan Grenfell. He later had consulting experience at Korn/Ferry International and a sales leadership role at LEGO. Steven holds an MA from Harvard University and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
Akiko Nakamura is a Vice President responsible for Real Estate, Private Equity, Insurance and Consumer Banking surveys/clients in Japan. Since joining McLagan in 2000, Akiko has worked on various projects, including the design of new salary and incentive plans for banks, asset management firms, and private equity firms.
Before joining McLagan, she worked at Yasuda Trust and Banking (currently Mizuho Trust and Banking) for 10 years, where she worked in several business areas including Corporate Banking relationship management, Fixed-Income sales, and Credit Analysis.
She holds an M.A. in Finance and Accounting from the Graduate School of Sydney University and a B.A. in Social Psychology from the University of Tokyo.
